What If Your Baguette Still Cost the Same as 20 Years Ago?

If we apply this absurd question to the pricing of SMS+ P8 services, what do we find?

That SMS+ P8 prices have not changed in 20 years!

And yet, everything else has evolved — user habits, salaries, advertising costs… everything has gone up, except the price of SMS+ P8.

Based on inflation, a price of €4.50 (incl. tax) twenty years ago would be roughly equivalent to €7 today.

If the industry truly wants to raise the bar in terms of quality, wouldn’t it make sense to offer a price of €4.99 incl. tax, with no access conditions?

And beyond €5 incl. tax, why not set eligibility criteria for accessing these higher rates?

Does the New SMS+ Code of Conduct Address This Issue?

No.

Sorry — operators are currently working on a new ethical charter that focuses on implementing double opt-in.

It’s a bit like a Prime Minister deciding to “degender” the Parliament’s front inscription while millions of French citizens are wondering how to make ends meet.

Knowing How to Set Priorities

That, it seems, is not exactly France’s strongest skill.
